US Embassy Opens Newly Renovated Secondary School in Rudaki District

Avesta.Tj | 09.08.2014 | Ambassador Susan M. Elliott participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday of the newly renovated facilities at secondary school #120 in Tajikistan’s Rudaki district.

According to the US Embassy to Tajikistan, four classrooms and storage rooms have been completely restored.

The work was funded by the U.S. Department of State Office of the Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia (EUR/ACE) and implemented by Counterpart International’s Community and Humanitarian Assistance Program (CHAP).

The repairs significantly improved the teaching and learning conditions for the students and staff members working at the school.

The secondary school #120 was established in 1972 as a kindergarten for vulnerable families and had been converted into primary school in 2003.

Since 1992, the American people have provided more than $1 billion in programs and humanitarian aid that support Tajikistan’s democratic institutions, health care, education and economic growth.
