Chinese Company to Build Oil Refinery in Dangara FEZ

Avesta.Tj | 09.10.2014 |Tajikistan's Majlisi Namoyandagon (lower chamber of the parliament) ratified on Thursday an investment agreement between Tajikistan and China’s Dong Ying Heli Investment and Development Co. Ltd on construction of an oil refinery in the Danghara Free Economic Zone (FEZ).


Speaking at the session, Lochin Fayzullozoda, the first deputy head of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), said that the Chinese company will produce the Euro-3 standard gasoline and diesel fuel.      


According to Fayzullozoda, the project consists of two stages. During the first stage, the enterprise’s refining capacity would be 500 tons per year and at the second stage, the enterprise’s refining capacity will be increased to 1.2 million tons.


For the first stage of the project the cost is estimated at more than 160 million U.S. dollars and the cost of the second stage of the project is over 300 million U.S. dollars.


The Chinese company has already signed agreements with its partners in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Russia on delivery of crude oil to Danghara oil refinery, Fayzullozoda said.


The project is expected to be implemented by the end of 2018.
