Tajikistan’s gold, currency reserves estimated at 481 mln USD


Avesta.Tj | 20.01.2015 | Tajikistan’s gold and currency reserves rose 12.5 percent last year, reaching 481 million U.S. dollars, Abdujabbor Shirinov, the head of Tajikistan’s National Bank said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

The country now had gold reserve of 11 tons, said the central bank head, adding that "last year, we bought 1.5 tons of gold at domestic and external markets”. 

Tajikistan’s gold and currency reserves in 2013, were estimated at 1.0715 billion U.S. dollars, which was 10.2 percent more than in 2012.
