Turkish Embassy Provides Assistance to 200 Requiring People in Tajikistan


Avesta.Tj | 16.07.2014 | On July 15, the  Council for Religious Affairs of the Turkish Embassy to Tajikistan with the support of the Turkish Religious Foundation held here a charity action on the occasion of Holy Ramadan.


The Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe said that the assistance was provided to 200 requiring people.


Meanwhile, the Council for Religious Affairs of the Embassy will assist on July 17-18 the flood victims in Shuroabad and Vose regions.


400 people will receive the food assistance from the Turkish diplomatic mission to Tajikistan.


According to the Statistics Agency of Tajikistan, 30 countries of the world have provided humanitarian aid to Tajikistan in January-June 2014. In total, the 4.4 tons of aid amounted to around $43 million dollars.

The United States was the largest (74.5%) supplier of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan in the first half of the year. The second place of the main donors was taken by the Netherlands (6.5%), and the third one – by Russia (5.1%).
