OIC chief to visit Tajikistan on June 15


Avesta.Tj | 12.06.2015 |Thomas Bach, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, will leave for Dushanbe next Monday on a two-day working visit to Tajikistan, tha Tajik National Olympic Committee (NOC) said Friday.

IOC chief Bach will be accompanied by the president of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and chief of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheik Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah.

During his stay in Dushanbe, Bach is expected to hold talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and to visit the NOC headquarters.

This is the first time Bach will make his visit to Tajikistan.

Thomas Bach was elected as the IOC President on Sept. 10, 2013.

The International Olympic Committee (OIC) is a corporation based in Lausanne, Switzerland, created by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrius Vikelas on June 23 1894.

Its membership consists of the 205 National Olympic Committees.

The IOC organizes the modern Olympic Games held in Summer and Winter, every four years.
