Tajik president congratulates Obama on U.S. Independence Day

Avesta.Tj | 04.07.2015 | Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Saturday congratulated his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama on the Independence Day.

"On behalf of the people of Tajikistan and from me personally I sincerely congratulate you on your Independence Day”, said Rahmon in his message.

Wishing Obama good health, success and productive work, as well as peace and prosperity to the American people, Rahmon highly appraised the state and dynamics of expansion of the Tajikistan-United States mutually beneficial partnership oriented to a long-term perspective.

"I am sure that further strengthening and expansion of spheres of cooperation meets national interests of the two countries and is an important factor of promotion of ideals of democracy and progress in the region and the world as a whole,” said Rahmon, adding that Tajikistan will undertake all necessary efforts for that.

The Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday across the U.S. in commemoration of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain.
