Tajik delegation attends SCO Council of National Coordinators in Russia


Avesta.Tj | 06.07.2015 |Tajik delegation will attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of National Coordinators that kicked off in Ufa, Russia, on Monday.

The delegation is led by the Deputy Foreign Minister and also National Coordinator to the SCO Parviz Davlatzoda.

Presided over by the Russian side, the meeting is reportedly discussing the agenda for an upcoming SCO summit, which will be held in Ufa Thursday and Friday, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.

The Council of National Coordinators coordinates the multilateral cooperation of SCO member nations within the framework of the organization's charter.

Founded in June 2001 as an intergovernmental organization, the SCO currently has six full members, namely China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Mongolia, Iran, Pakistan and India are observers, while Belarus, Sri Lanka and Turkey are dialogue partners.
