Tajik, Kazakh presidents meet, sign strategic partnership agreement

 

Avesta.Tj | 14.09.2015 |Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met here on Monday with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev.


During their talks the sides expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.


"Tajikistan attaches significance to its relations with Kazakhstan”, said Rahmon, adding that Kazakh President’s visit will open a new page in the relations between their countries.


Nazarbaev, for his part, said "there have never been and there will be no problems in the relations between the two countries ”.


"Tajikistan is our strategic partner and we are ready to support development of Tajikistan’s economy,” said Nazarbayev.


After the talks, the two heads of state also signed an agreement on the strategic partnership.


Kazakhstan is the third country with whom Tajikistan signed the strategic partnership agreement. Tajikistan had already signed the strategic partnership agreements with Russia in 2004 and China in 2013.


Tajikistan and Kazakhstan also signed a government-to-government agreement on technical protection of information.


The two sides inked a protocol on making changes and addenda to the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on labor activity and protection of rights of labor migrants of the two countries.


They also signed a protocol on making changes and addenda to the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of education, which was signed on June 13, 2000.  


The Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Sports  signed a cooperation agreement.


The foreign ministries of the two countries signed a program of cooperation designed for 2016-2017.
