Tajik diplomat, Afghan chief executive discuss situation along two countries' border


Avesta.Tj | 07.10.2015 |Tajik ambassador to Afghanistan Sharofiddin Imom met Tuesday in Kabul with the Afghan Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Tajik embassy.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues related to stabilization of the situation along the Tajik-Afghan border.

They also discussed issues of providing peace and stability in border areas and the Afghan refugee situation.

Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry said that Tajik consulate in Kunduz has temporarily suspended its operations.  

The consulate building was partially damaged as the result of gun battles between Afghan government forces and Taliban militants.
