Two frontier posts commissioned along Tajik-Afghan border


Avesta.Tj | 13.10.2015 |Two new frontier posts -- Sari Pul and Kaflotun – were commissioned in Tajikistan’s southern districts of Panj and Hamadoni along the border with Afghanistan, the Tajik State Committee for National Security (SCNS) said Tuesday.

Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda, the SCNS chief Saymumin Yatimov, Border Troops commander Rajabali Rahmonali, the chief of the Main Border Guard Directorate’s office in the Tajik southern province of Khatlon Aslam Nazarov and other officials attended the official opening ceremonies of the two frontier posts in Panj and Hamadoni districts.

"The frontier posts are provided with all necessary equipment and premises meeting international standards”, said Rajabali Rahmonali, the border troops commander, at the opening ceremony.

A total length of Tajikistan’s common border with Afghanistan is more than 1,400 kilometers.

 In May, 2015, Tajikistan created the second line of defense along its common border with Afghanistan following aggravation of the situation in the border areas of the neighboring country.
